Okay, I already know what you're going to say.

"Nate, that just looks like the way Goran Parlov draws him."

But how Goran Parlov draws him is the way he's supposed to look, he designed him, and he gave him very distinct, recognizable facial features, and it would be weird to deviate from them and it would genericize him. How else am I supposed to draw him?

I was just going to say "nice sketch", Mr. Sensitive.

You're supposed to draw him just like that. Those other versions could be anybody.

It looks enough like him to be him, but not so much that it doesn't look like it's yours.

PARANOIA.

Nothing wrong with staying on-model.
And his one good eye is a Nate-eye for sure.

I can't say it's a nice character, because he is not nice at all. But your drawing is quite good, and I agree on your thinking. And your version is by far better than those 3 examples.
